I am greatly looking forward to returning to my old childhood synagogue, Parkway Jewish Center, in Pittsburgh, PA for a Klezmer Kabbalat Shabbat Friday November 7th at 6pm and a special concert on Saturday November 8th from 7pm-8:30pm. I will be joined by my esteemed colleagues Walt Mahovlich (accordion) and Cantor Henry Shapiro (spiritual leader of Parkway Jewish Center). I remember leading services there back in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s which helped shape my Jewish music career. We plan to perform a selection of my Jewish compositions plus traditional klezmer and East European folk music. Everyone is welcome to attend.
